Google TV – Is this what TV Sheffield has been waiting for?

Google TV has been announced! It will be implemented in most Sony TVs from this autumn and available through set-top-boxes manufactured by Logitech.

As for TV Sheffield, Google TV will provide the standardised link to the living-room TV set. Thus allowing everyone to watch TV Sheffield programmes as they would any other TV programme from any other Broadcast TV station.

The Google announcement also provided for Social TV development through Android mobile phones which will act as interactive device / remote control.
